You’re using your iPhone wrong – simple hack gives you extra storage space immediately

A LOW storage warning is a nightmare for iPhone users.
That means you can’t update to the latest software, download more apps, or take more photos and videos.

But there are a couple of ways to unlock more — without shelling out the cash to buy a new iPhone with more storage.
A simple – and free – solution is to optimize your iPhone’s photos and videos.
It requires the use of Apple’s iCloud feature, which stores most of the data from your photos and videos outside of your device.
Precious photos and videos will remain on your phone, but the full-resolution versions will be stored in iCloud.
To access the full resolution versions, simply click on the image on your phone and wait for the more detailed image to load from the cloud.
To optimize your photos and videos, go to Settings > Pictures and turn on the switch for Optimize iPhone storage.
For this to work, you must have iCloud Photos the setting above it enabled.
This may take some time to complete, depending on how many photos and videos there are.

A cheap but not completely free option is to pay for a monthly subscription for iCloud storage.
Prices range from £0.79/$0.99 a month for 50GB to £6.99/$9.99 a month for 2 terabytes.
To upgrade iCloud on iPhone, go to Settings > (your name) > iCloud > Manage account storage > Buy more storage space.
Although it costs money, it is far cheaper and easier than buying and setting up a new device.
Or finally, you can download your biggest apps and videos, delete old conversations and even old music.
By going into the iPhone settings, you can check which apps are eating up the most of your storage space.
Set the course towards Settings > General > iPhone Storage to see a complete overview of how your iPhone storage is being used.
