Autumn is in full swing, and with it comes the spooky season. Game releases have increased with publishers looking to get their games out before the Christmas shopping season really begins. This week is full of great releases, so let’s take a look at what games are hitting stores.

Bayonetta 3 (10/27)

Bayonetta 3 has received a lot of press, but not for the best reasons. First there was the voice acting controversy caused by original Bayonetta voice actress Hellena Taylor who claimed she turned down a pittance to return for the third installment before calling for a boycott of the game. Then Bayonetta 3 spoilers leaked online after copies of the game arrived early for some. As for the game itself, Bayonetta 3 won’t miss a beat after the franchise’s eight-year layoff. It will bring back the hack and slash action game and fiendish demons fans have been waiting for.

Resident Evil Village: Shadows of Rose (28/10)

The Winters’ expansion to Resident Evil Village falls on Friday – just in time for Halloween weekend! The story DLC Shadows of Rose will pick up 16 years after the end of the base game with Rosemary Winters returning to the titular village to rid herself of her powers. The expansion also includes a third-person mode and playable versions of Chris Redfield, Lady Alcina Dimitrescu and Karl Heisenberg in The Mercenaries mode. Resident Evil Re:Verse — an online multiplayer deathmatch game mode — also drops on the same day.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II (28/10)

Infinity Ward’s reboot of Duty callshis (arguably) best series continues in Modern Warfare IIthe sequel to the 2019s Modern warfare. It will reunite players with fan-favorite characters Captain Price, Ghost and Soap MacTavish as Task Force 141 takes on special forces missions around the world. The multiplayer – the real draw, let’s be honest – will introduce two new game modes (Knockout and Prisoner Rescue) and will include a third-person mode. The original Modern Warfare 2 from 2009 has a special place in many players’ hearts, giving the reboot a lot to live up to.
