The biggest gaming news for October 25, 2022

Amazon has given us our first official look at the Fallout TV show and Pokemon has revealed the best ghost dog.


The gaming industry isn’t slowing down for anyone, and there are a lot of big stories to get through today, so let’s jump right in. To start with, Amazon gave us a special gift for Fallout’s 25th birthday, when it revealed the first official look at it upcoming Fallout TV show via a new screenshot.


Pokemon is getting festive for the spooky season by revealing a new Ghost ‘mon called Greavard, while Microsoft is bringing Age of Empires to consoles for the first time in 25 years. For more information, just read on.

Amazon reveals first look at TV show Fallout

We still don’t know much about Amazon’s upcoming Fallout series, but we do know a little more now thanks to a new screenshot shared by the company for the franchise’s 25th anniversary. In the screenshot, we can see several Vault Dwellers presumably leaving Vault 33 for the very first time, as several are slightly startled by the large Vault door while a person stands in the doorway. We can also see someone’s legs on the floor, suggesting that the Dwellers in the screenshot may have fought their way to the exit.

Pokemon Scarlet & Violet reveals a cute ghost dog that eats your soul

Pokémon Scarlet & Violet has revealed another new creature for fans to wonder about, this time a spooky Ghost-type Pokémon now that Halloween is right around the corner. A new trailer shows a woman hunting Ghost-type Pokemon, eventually meeting a good little boy named Greavant. After playing fetch with a stick for a while, the woman collapses for some unknown reason, but it was later revealed that Greavant enjoys draining the life force of those close to him. So, rest in peace that woman, I guess.

Age of Empires 2 And 4 is coming to Xbox consoles in 2023

Ever since the first game launched 25 years ago, Age of Empires has launched exclusively on PC – understandable since it’s an RTS series. Well, it’s coming to an end in 2023, as Microsoft announced that both Age of Empires 2: Definitive Edition and Age of Empires 4 will launch on Xbox One and Xbox Series X next year. We just have to wait until January 31st for Age of Empires 2, while Age of Empires 4’s release date was not announced. Both titles will support keyboard and mouse, and will also feature cross-play with PC users.

As we move further and further into the digital age, video game manuals are slowly becoming a thing of the past. Now, it’s either a novelty or even a pre-order bonus for games to include manuals these days, but one person who doesn’t want video game manuals to fade into the past is Kirkland. They revealed that they spent a whopping $40,000 and over 22 years of their time scanning every single PS2 manual and archiving them online for future generations to check out for years to come.

Nine months of Genshin effect updates potentially leaked

The developer of Genshin Impact – Mihoyo – probably hasn’t had the best of days today, as it seems a “tsunami” of information about the title’s future for the next nine months has leaked online. It’s not entirely clear if this was a leak or if Mihoyo has been hacked, but all of this information was apparently pulled from the developer’s internal servers. That means if you want to keep future reveals a surprise, you may need to be more diligent on social media.
