Liam Kirley, who manages the supermarket’s TikTok page, shared new hacks in his ongoing grocery series, with the sole aim of educating customers about new technology and ways to move around the store.

In his latest video, Liam offered an option to place your scanned groceries next to the self-checkout just so the surface won’t recognize it’s in the bag area.

“If you place an item in the luggage area, you can pick it up and put it back in the cart if the light is green,” he explained.

“A good rule of thumb is if the light is green, you can scan the next product.”

He went on to talk about how you can call for help using the touchscreen and why rolling the cart into the area will save you time.

“For starters, you can wheel the cart into the self-serve bay,” he said.

“Hack wood. Many of our machines now try to guess which fruit or vegetables you have on the scale. Place all the same products on the scale, and go to fruit and vegetables, and you’ll see what the scanner thinks it is.

“And if you need help, hit the assist button and we’ll be with you soon.”
