Shower cleaning hack: The ‘best time of day to clean your shower’ – quick and easy

Showers can become full of water marks and soap scum, meaning it takes some elbow grease to get the job done effectively. But if you want to cut down on the time you spend on the task, professional cleaner Lindsay Turford suggests focusing on the job at a specific time of day.

Lindsay is known for her cleaning tips and tricks which she shares with an audience of 78.4k on her Instagram page @dazlincleaning. She explained: “Did you know that the best time to clean your shower is right after you’ve had one? Steam is an excellent cleaning and disinfecting agent. The steam will loosen the dirt, making it quicker and easier to clean.”

Rinsing the shower after each use will also help remove soap scum, hair or debris that can build up over time if left untreated.

Using a squeegee on the inside of the shower and glass door can also help keep mold and hard water at bay by eliminating moisture that causes mold.

How to create a quick and easy shower cleaning routine

Cleaning the shower after each use can extend the time between thorough cleanings and will also keep mold and mildew at bay.

Start by removing everything from the shower, such as bottles or soap bars that may be on the side. Then spray down the walls with your favorite product.

Let the product sit for around five minutes, this resting time will allow the product to do much of the work for you.

If you notice lime or hard water marks, you can scrub them away with a sponge. Repeat the process on the bottom of the shower or tub.

Then rinse the product with clean water either from the shower head or with cups of water. Using a squeegee, remove excess water and pat the walls down with a towel.

Finally, using a microfiber cloth, dust down the faucets and other equipment before changing all the shampoo bottles.
