People just realize it’s a hack to make eyeliner last longer and it blows their minds
HOW often do you splash out on new makeup?
With the cost of living crisis at its peak, the thought of your foundation producing its last dribble, or your blusher blending its last cheek, is too much to bear.
Make-up is one of life’s little luxuries, and while high street stores like Primark and supermarkets like Aldi do a great job of duping designer buys, costs can still add up.
Beauty fans have long been aware of the pencil sharpener to get more use out of their eye and lip liners, but there’s another top tip in town that’s blowing people’s minds.
A TikTok user named Gigi sharpened her eyeliner like everyone else until one day she was playing around and discovered a neat trick.
It was such a game changer, she had to share it with the TikTok community.
Posting to her feed, named Gurtz_gigi, she revealed the astonishing hack.
The clip shows Gigi holding her white NYX eyeliner, captioned: “I used to sharpen my NYX eyeliner until I realized…”
The image then skips to show the bottom of the eyeliner, and Gigi – who has wonderfully manicured metal-tipped nails – points at the very end.
She then gives the bottom end of the pencil a twist and it comes loose easily in her hand.

Gigi produces a regular cotton bud, pulls up the pencil and pushes the bud through into the empty interior.
The camera pans back to the top of the pencil, and slowly but surely the white tip begins to rise.
There’s so much more to Gigi’s eyeliner – and she’d never know if she hadn’t played with it.
She calls the hack: “Brilliant!”
Gigi has over 20,000 TikTok followers and an impressive 6.2 million people have already watched her hack video.

It has received some mixed reviews from other beauty fans, but most are so happy with the discovery.
“It actually works, my mind is blown,” declared one satisfied user.
Another exclaimed: “I’ve been through six blacks and you’re telling me I can just do it?!”
And a third frustrated beauty lover asked: “Why do they make it so difficult.”
Others had a hard time trying out the new hack, with some struggling to get into the product.
“How did you get the bottom off? Mine is like glue, said one.
And another warned: “I did it and the pipe broke into little pieces. I had to dig out all the product and put it in a separate container. So be careful/slow!”
