There are a whole lot of toxic Overwatch 2 players out there who need a report to sabotage their team and blast them in chat.

Overwatch 2 is a fun game, but toxic teammates and cheating can make it hard to persevere at times. Fortunately, there is a report feature built into the game that can help players monitor each other for communication abuse and hacking.

There’s a lot going on when it comes to the online gaming experience, and it’s seen a reporting feature built into pretty much every game. Overwatch 2 is no exception, but figuring out how to report people isn’t easy. Overwatch 2 players will question how to report a grieving teammate after a tough loss, but there is a way.

Instead of having the report feature built into the post-game screen along with endorsements, players have to sift through menus to track down bad actors for a report. It is not difficult to access and is a simple process once players are familiar with it, but it is not easy to find on the first try.

How to report players in Overwatch 2

Overwatch 2 players can make a report using the social tab on the main menu. This is the white button at the top right of the main menu, next to the challenge tab. On PC, players can simply click on it to access it, but console players must press Y on Xbox or triangle on PlayStation, then navigate over to it.

After opening it, select the “Recent Players” tab from the top. This brings up a list of both allies and enemies that have been played with recently. On PC, right click on the player’s tab to start shopping or just highlight and select them on consoles.

From there, players can choose to do a number of different things, both positive and negative. This includes sending a group invite, a friend request or muting the communication and reporting them.

After choosing to report someone, the player will be asked why they want to report that person. Players must first select from a selection of potential toxic behaviors. They are then given the opportunity to provide more information about why they are filing the report, including what the person did to warrant a review.

What can you report people for in Overwatch 2?

The standard the list of reasons to report people in Overwatch 2 includes abusing communication and ruining the game experience. This is broken down into six different stock options to issue a report, including the following:

  • Abusive chat
  • Gameplay Sabotage
  • Inactivity
  • Spam
  • Cheating
  • Bad Battletag

Most of these are simple in terms of in-game toxicity, going AFK, using cheats, and so on. “Bad Battletag” refers to the player’s username. “Game sabotage” is when players actively try to reduce their team’s chances of winning. Although many Overwatch 2 players feel the report system doesn’t do enough, this is the best available at the moment. Unfortunately, deal with someone angry Overwatch 2 players are only part of the experience.

Overwatch 2 is now available on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC.
