Mother-of-two Alicia Jo Vaughan shared the hack from her TikTok account and has amazed people with the results.
Simply dissolve a dishwasher tablet in some warm water and soak a microfiber cloth in the liquid.
Then use this to wrap around a pot lid and rub over your sofa, or any other piece of furniture that may need cleaning.
A hair band can be tied around the handle of the pot lid to keep the cloth in place.
The 28-year-old claims the hack is a lifesaver when it comes to dealing with stains created by her young children spilling “water, milk and juice”.
Millions of TikTok users were amazed by the results as the hack continues to rack up views.
One person commented: “I have a toddler and I swear by this! It actually gets clean, not cleaner, but CLEAN!”
Another agreed: “I tried it on my couch, game changer, I swear it was clean, stains gone.”
“I just did and this will definitely be a ritual now for dog smells,” added a third.
The TikTok was uploaded by content creator @ajvaughan who credited the hack to @Aesthetically in Home.
Other tips for cleaning the sofa were also mentioned in the comments section which included using washing tabs, bicarbonate of soda, hot plates and even shaving cream.
When using cleaning products, be sure to check the ingredients before handling them without gloves and make sure they are safe to use this way.
Another hack that can save you valuable time and money is a woman’s oven rack cleaning tip.
The method involves only a few household items and effectively removes grease and dirt.
The expert, who goes by Babs to her 1.5 million TikTok followers, started by placing her stands on top of an old towel in her bathtub, then filled it with warm water, making sure the stands were fully submerged.
Next, Babs poured half a cup of Dawn dish soap over the racks and then placed several dryer sheets on top.
Finally she said to let the racks soak in some ovens or overnight.

After letting them soak, Babs used the dryer to easily wipe off all the dirt.
“Amazing, they look brand new!” she said as she proudly displayed the glittering racks.
