Introducing Samsung Wallet: An easy-to-use, secure platform that contains everything your digital life needs

Samsung Wallet combines Samsung Pay with Samsung Pass to save and access digital ID, payment and loyalty cards, keys and more
Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. today announced the launch of Samsung Wallet1, a new platform that enables Galaxy users to organize digital keys, boarding passes, identification cards and more, in one easy-to-use and secure mobile application. Protected by defense-grade security from Samsung Knox, Samsung Wallet takes advantage of an open Galaxy ecosystem by integrating with Samsung Blockchain Wallet to easily monitor cryptocurrencies, and SmartThings to unlock doors.

More than a payment service
Samsung Wallet provides users with a refined interface and one-swipe access to payment cards, loyalty and membership cards and more2. Samsung Wallet also includes the functionality of Samsung Pass which securely stores passwords and allows users to quickly and easily log into apps and services3. It even helps users quickly monitor their digital asset portfolio by checking the value of their cryptocurrencies across various exchanges4 in one place. Later this year, Samsung Wallet will also begin supporting official IDs, such as mobile driver’s licenses and student IDs5 Other important documentation, such as proof of COVID-19 vaccination status, can also be securely stored in Samsung Wallet.
Convenient access to the home and Transportation
With the integration of SmartThings and Samsung’s partnership with 9 home security companies6, users can easily add digital home keys to easily lock and unlock their doors with a Galaxy device. Samsung Wallet also supports digital car keys on selected BMW, Genesis and Hyundai models7 which allows users to lock and unlock cars, start engines and more. Initially available on models such as the BMW 1,2,3,4,5,6,8 Series, 5-X7 and iX models launched after July 2020, the functionality is also available on the Hyundai Palisade, Genesis GV60 and G90, with additional automaker partnerships is expected.
Samsung’s initial partnership with Korean Air allows Korean Air boarding passes8 stored in Samsung Wallet for easy access, making boarding a flight as easy as logging into an online account.
As secure as it is simple, protected by Samsung Knox
Samsung Wallet is protected by the defense-grade Samsung Knox security platform. Protection includes fingerprint recognition and encryption that help protect users’ sensitive data so that only the device owners can access important information. Together with Samsung Knox, certain key-sensitive elements in Samsung Wallet are stored in an isolated environment – the built-in Secure Element, which also helps protect against digital and physical hacking.
Availability
In addition to the United States, Galaxy users in five markets9 – France, Germany, Italy, Spain and the UK, can simply open the Samsung Pay or Samsung Pass app from their eligible Galaxy devices10 and follow the prompts to update and migrate to Samsung Wallet, or visit the Galaxy Store to learn more.
