No matter which coffee shop you spend your hard-earned money on, the costs can really add up. But what if you could get a mug – or three – for free?
According to one knowledgeable woman, it’s as easy as downloading an app.
Posting on the TikTok platform Getzedosh, the lady shares how she gets free Starbucks refills – and it doesn’t even have to be the same drink.
The post reads: “Free Starbucks coffee! Did you know this hack? If you finish your Starbucks drink while still sitting in the store, you are eligible for an absolutely FREE drink.
“It doesn’t matter what you originally bought, which means you can try something else at no extra cost.”
The benefit is for drinks purchased on a Starbucks rewards card or app, she advises, but non-members can still get free refills at a discounted price.
In the video, viewers see an awkward exchange between a Starbucks customer and an employee. The woman asks for a free refill, to which the employee replies: “I’m really sorry, but unfortunately we don’t give free refills on our coffee.”
With her head raised, the woman replies, “Well actually, I can. Because I paid for this drink with my Starbucks card, I am entitled to a completely free refill.”
She adds: “This refill can be any coffee, iced, hot or cold brew, or any tea. And actually I’m going to get another coffee because it doesn’t matter what my original drink was.”
Followers of the TikTok account were stunned by the scenario, claiming that they would never have the courage to try the hack because they would be overly conscious of their behavior.
“I’d rather pay than bother myself so much,” said one confused user.

Another agreed: “Same, my anxiety could never allow me to embarrass myself, I would never sleep again.”
Others pointed out the woman’s bluntness, saying it would have consequences for her actions in real life.
“Look if anyone said to me ‘well actually I can…’ she was wearing her coffee,” exclaimed one confident follower.
And there’s another problem with the clip, as every UK resident confirmed – here in the UK, the only free refill we get is filter coffee.
“As a former British Starbucks barista, I can confirm that it’s filter coffee only,” revealed one disappointed woman.
