Natalie Cole said: “I use wet newspaper with a small amount of ash. Thought it sounded weird when I first heard about the hack, but then I tried it out and I was surprised at how well it works. You have to try it.”
Pam Dowd wrote: “My husband cleans ours with shredded newspaper. Effortless and looks like new. Really works.”
Tracey Kelly suggested: “Wet some kitchen roll or newspaper and dip in ash, then wipe with kitchen roll.”

“All you need to clean the stove glass using this method is a few sheets of old newspaper, the leftover wooden boxes you’ve been saving, a cloth and a bowl of warm, soapy water.”
For those looking for another natural method to clean wood burner glass, experts suggest using bicarbonate of soda, otherwise known as baking soda.
They said: “A popular choice of cleaning product for those who don’t like to use chemicals, you can try using a paste of bicarbonate of soda and water to clean the cooker glass.”
But for those who want to get the job done the fastest, there are special stove glass cleaning sprays out there that offer the ultimate in convenience.
