5 things you can do with quick tap gestures on the Pixel 7 Pro (and Pixel 7)

The new Google Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7 smartphones run on Android 13, and they have a bunch of useful tricks and quick shortcuts that will help you do more with your smartphone. Talking about the gesture features, the new Pixel comes with Quick Tap gestures and with that you can do more things easily. So here are the 5 things you can do with Quick Tap gestures on Pixel 7 Pro and Pixel 7.

1) Take screenshots

Taking screenshots is easy with the Quick Tap gestures, you just need to turn the phone over and double tap the back of the phone and the phone will take screenshots.

To take screenshots using the quick tap gesture, go to Settings -> System -> Gestures and press on Quick tap to initiate actions. Now select the option Take screenshot to set the gesture to take screenshots.

2) Show recent apps

If you don’t want to press the recent apps button or use the navigation gesture to view recent apps, just double-tap the back of the phone to easily access the recent apps menu.

To do so, go to Settings -> System -> Gestures and press on Quick tap to initiate actions. Now select the option Show recent apps to set the gesture to open the recent apps menu every time you double-tap the phone’s back.

3) Turn on flashlight

You still find it slow to turn on the flashlight on your phone, most smartphones have a flashlight notification panel shortcut, and if you use it, this handy Quick Tap gesture will simply amaze you. Just double tap the back of your Pixel phone and you can easily turn on the flashlight.

To do so, go to Settings -> System -> Gestures and press on Turn on the flashlight. Now double tap on the back to start the flashlight. Easy peasy, right?

4) Play pause music

For music lovers, this gesture can be useful because you don’t have to unlock your phone and press the play/pause button, you just double tap. To play or pause the music using this gesture, go to Settings -> System -> Gestures and press on Play or pause media. Now use the double tap gesture to play/pause music.

5) Open Apps

The last thing among the 5s is that you can easily launch apps using the Quick Tap gestures. First of all, enable the gesture in Settings, go to Settings -> System -> Gestures, and press on Open the app. On the right side, tap the Settings gear icon and set the app you want to launch with this gesture.

There are several shortcuts you can set, just go to Quick taps to initiate actions and set your favorite shortcut.
