Suicide Squad Kill The Justice League

Superheroes are everywhere at this point, in all parts of media, and in recent times video games have really taken the ball and run with it (you know, outside of Marvel’s Avengers…) so given that here are the ones coming next year (possibly) which you should take note of.

#13 Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake

  • Developer: Aspyr
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Platforms: PlayStation 5, Microsoft Windows
  • Release date: TBA

There is some debate on the site whether Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake is a superhero game or not. Are Jedi superheroes? Or are they just peacekeepers who happen to have special powers and cool swords? You may have to decide for yourself.

The game is also one where we can’t say it’s coming out next year due to all the rumored turmoil going on at the companies remaking it. But hey, superheroes are about hope, right?

WHEN it comes out, it will hopefully be a remake worthy of the name it bears, and hopefully once again set a standard for RPGS as a whole.

If you’re looking for a definitive superhero game to look forward to next year, it would be Marvel’s Midnight Suns. The game was supposed to come out this year, but it was pushed back.

This is going to play a little differently than some of the other superhero games that you probably know and love. Not least is that this game focuses on the more supernatural elements of the Marvel universe. To the extent that the list of characters you want to play that has a “supernatural” feel to it at times.

In addition, there is a card combat system that you will use in the game. So it will be very interesting to see how the system works when the title comes out.

The game Robocop: Rogue City will put you in the robot shoes of Murphy himself, yes, the one true Robocop. Your goal is simple, go around the city and clean up the streets of crime. Which for you and your arsenal should be a no-brainer.

However, things aren’t always that simple in this city, and you have to be careful lest your prime directives become the very thing you swore to defeat!

#6 Multiverse

  • Release date: August 15, 2022 EA, full launch 2023
  • Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
  • Developer: Player First Games
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

Yes, we KNOW you can play Multiversus right now! But you also KNOW it’s very limited unless you get the Founder’s Pack, which many of you apparently have, and add to that, there’s going to be a lot more characters coming as it gets to its ACTUAL release in 2023.

Mind you, the game is already making headlines left and right when it goes full-tilt with its core 2v2 gameplay and the VERY unique roster of characters you can play as. Superman, Taz, Velma, The Iron Giant, Morty and more only add to the madness of this game.

They are constantly making updates and updates to make the game more balanced. So you can imagine how complete it will be when the game is FULLY released next year.

#5 Overwatch 2

  • Release Date: October 4, 2022 EA, Full Launch TBA
  • Developer: Blizzard Entertainment
  • Publisher: Blizzard Entertainment
  • Platforms: PlayStation 4, Nintendo Switch, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows

The full version of Overwatch 2 is coming out next year, not to mention all the DLC additions to the roster that you can all expect from it naturally.

The original title was a huge hit in every way that mattered. The unique characters, the world building that was done over time, the frequently released events and updates that kept players coming back, and more.

With Overwatch 2, you’re going to get all that and more, plus new additions and improvements to make the game even better.

Well… one would expect at least, it’s hard to know what Blizzard is thinking at times…

#4 Wonder Woman

  • Release date: TBA
  • Developer: Monolith Productions
  • Publisher: Warner Bros.
  • Platforms: TBA

This one was revealed at The Game Awards last year and it got people talking. Why? Well, despite being one of the DC Comics trinity, Wonder Woman has never had her own solo game. Which is wrong because she has a huge pantheon (literally) of characters to draw from.

Fortunately, the upcoming video game will hopefully allow Diana of Themyscira to get her act together and showcase just how magnificent a hero she is.

Granted, we only have a teaser trailer for now, but the fact that a game is being made about her is fair enough in this case. Let’s just hope the team nails the feeling of being a demigod and warring with her, because many will be looking for that.

#3 Marvel’s Wolverine

  • Developer: Insomniac Games
  • Release date: TBA
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Platform: PlayStation 5

After the success of a certain Spidey title (which will soon have a certain sequel…), it’s no surprise that the team at Insomniac is going to double down and bring us another title via Marvel’s Wolverine.

What do we know other than that? Not so dangerous, isn’t it always like that? While we don’t know what to expect story-wise, we can tell you that the game will likely be the “Wolverine version” of their previous Marvel adventure. Which means a deep story full of characters, incredible action, and thanks to the PS5, great visuals.

All we can really ask for is that we get more information about the game soon.

#2 Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League

  • Release date: 2023
  • Publisher: Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment
  • Developer: Rocksteady Studios
  • Platforms: Xbox Series X and Series S, Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 5

Suicide Squad: Kill the Justice League is FINALLY coming next year, and it will be from the team behind the Batman Arkham Trilogy, so you know there will be some quality to the title here.

You will play as four members of the infamous Suicide Squad (Harley Quinn, Captain Boomerang, King Shark and Deadshot) and your impossible mission will be to stop the Justice League from the mind control they are under. You know, by killing them. It’s in the title.

All four team members will play differently. So choose who you want to be and wear it.

#1 Marvel’s Spider-Man 2

  • Developer: Insomniac Games
  • Publisher: Sony Interactive Entertainment
  • Platform: PlayStation 5
  • Release date: 2023

It would honestly be VERY hard not to put Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 at the top of this list. After all, the first one was a near masterpiece in terms of looks, storytelling, action, sidequests, swinging around New York and so on.

But despite not knowing too much about the game beyond a small teaser trailer, we do know that the team at Insomniac is hard at work making this title even bigger and better than the first. We know that Peter and Miles are both fit for this game and that Venom is coming!

But who else will show up? What new adventures await the Spider-Men? We’ll have to wait and see!
